Mesquite "Top"

>Mesquite hollow form 5 1/2" x 6 1/2".

I drilled the pilot hole to deep and ended up with the base coming to a point. I made the Maple base with a countersunk hole to match the profile for the "Top" to sit in.

Critiques welcome.

>Nice save! Although I think maybe a plainer wood would be better for the base so it doesn't take attention from the main form. The form itself is good, even with the "design adjustment" at the base. My only suggestion would be to try making the opening smaller if you can.
