>I ought to be embarrassed to ask, so naturally I will. It's ok to make fun or groan at my ignorance, but would somebody please explain what the colorful squares, dots & do-dads beside WC postings mean. I had assumed they were to embellish the posts like chatter or dye on turnings, then I began to wonder if they were some kind of flawed CIA terrorist info. Seems impossible, but I'm beginning to suspect that I could be wrong. Forget the meaning of life and other lesser questions; I want to know what those red & black symbols mean. TIA, Arch

>Well the red cherries symbolize new messages that were posted since your last visit. A black circle is an original post. An open circle (not colored in) is a response to the original post. A black square is a response to a response in an original post. Hope this helps, even though I probably made it as clear as mud.

Dinyar, By connecting the red dots of several threads. I could make out a dim outline of Osama, but not his hiding site. You turners who also sail, don't bother. I tried 'red, right, return' and 'black pile on left'. Neither broke the code.

Anyway, I've finally found my signature turning; miniatures of these symbols. I may not become famous, but this should make me unique, just like everybody else. Arch
