This is the most orginal idea I've seen for a pair a goblets yet.

Next you have to work on the goblet that was mentioned on the chat room - you remember the one, don't you! ;-)

Thanks. When you make something with passion it just comes together. This was for my Cousin who passed away from breast cancer. It makes me feel good to know that I created something to spread her joy.

>Thanks guys and gals your making me blush. I did work very hard on this. I made the walnut goblet twice. The second one was taller and I shaped the sympathy belly differently. Made the captured ring smaller and the belly button was my sons idea.

I had to make 2 of the pregnant goblet stems. the first one didn't have the right curve. I turned the stem off center and then steam bent it to get it to curve back. I steam bent the stem on top of the goblet also.

I made the inside-out turned belly 3 times. I tried a new technique for me which was to put 2 different inside out turning together. You can't see it in that photo but the holes in front and back are different from each other and the sides are different from the front and back. That was harder than it looks and took some really precise cutting.

putting the 2 small goblets in the egg to 7 tries and thanks to you guys I finally found the right resin to get it done.

Your goblets are absolutely incredible - a challenge for all turners. Oh well, maybe when my back gets better I'll bring the lathe back into the shop and try again.

I forgot to tell you that I cut the bowl off the first walnut goblet. Actually I sanded the lip off. I was trying to sand the bottom of the bowl and unknowingly was sanding the narrow rim portion even though I trying not to. Next thing I know the rim is hanging loose on my finger.

Then I decided the goblet needed to be taller and and got way too much chatter so I pulled up Dominics plans for a steady rest and built that. That allowed me to get much cleaner cuts on the inised of the bowl so it didn't need much sanding. Thanks Dom for the plans.

I have trouble posting and working on the WOW site. One of these days I'll take the time to learn it. I seem to either get lost trying to find things or get kicked out. I'll have another piece to show tomorrow. It's radically different and will probably get much different responses.
