One small comment as to wood choice.The original piece was meant to convey the feeling for floating paper or cloth.The dark wood in this one makes it more visually heavy and the "floating" becomes "folding" to my eye.No less captivating,just a different feel.

I hope you enjoy making these,I think you may have found your"signature piece".

>HI Bob, thanks, this one took two weeks, part time evenings. The turning part took one day, the rest was glueing, carving, ( by hand) and the most time of all was sanding. Over a week to sand, the curls were hard to get into.

This one has a design change, which I normally don't like to do. I realized the base could be turned from the same block, instead of adding an additional piece. This forced me to compress the spiral at the base, which I'm not so sure I like.

My feelings on this piece is I may have overdone it a bit, too much to take in at once. I'm still struggling with the base. thanks, Keith

I agree with Graeme, the Tango name sure fits this piece. Tow dancers seperate but inter-twined.

You're not sick and I always enjoy viewing your works. This piece is beautiful. There is a Talmudic quote 'according to the effort is the reward' you can certainly say that about this piece. I wish I could be there to see it but even if I started hitch hiking now from Israel I still wouldn't make it.
