>I thought you might want to know. Willard Baxter passed away today. Many of you met Willard I'm sure. He is the man responsible for building up the woodturning program at John C. Campbell. Of course he also was the Auctioneer for the National Symposium the Southern States Symposium and the Tennessee Symposium. I don't have any more details yet.

I am sorry to hear this news, I knew that he had not been well recently.
He was a wonderful guy with a great sense of humor, and a terrific turner too.
His work as the auctioneer for the Symposiums probably increased the bids two fold.
He will be missed by anyone that ever met him.
If you can, please pass on my best wishes to his family.
The woodturning world is a little darker tonight, but Willard sure lit a lot of candles.

>Willard was a true servant. He was a Baptist minister, a sheriff's deputy, a good friend, and the "johnny appleseed" of woodturning in the south. He helped me to find my first Powermatic and could not have been more generous with his wisdom. We can only hope to be as fortunate as he to have so many friends and to enjoy life as much. God bless him as he moves on to a new life, and God be with his family, particularly Sara.
