Pecan bowls. PICS
Dave Smith
>I turned these two bowls from some pecan I got from Sean Troy last February when I paid him a visit in Arizona. The pecan behaved nicely contrary to what I had heard. No cracks and very little movement. I guess I held my tongue right while they dried. Sanded to 600 then finished off the lathe. Finished with two coats of Rocklers Polyurethane gel. Sanded with 600 between coats.
Small bowl, cored from the larger one, is 2 1/8" high, 5 7/8" wide and a wall thickness of 5/16". Finished dimensions of the large bowl are 3 3/8" high, 7 7/8" wide with a wall thickness of 7/16".
I took the pictures outside which made it easier to find somewhere to set the bowls. Now I need to get a better setting.

Thanks for looking
