"1and1" has a cheaper solution with a LOT more capacity. How about 500mb of space for $5 a month. You even get a domain name for that price and a bunch of e-mail accounts.

There are a lot of cheaper solutions like free web hosting. Your ISP usualy provides some web space. And there are some on the net which usualy include some pop-ups.

The point being, shop around. Access some sites that use the web hosting solution you are considering to see how the pages load. When you find one that looks good ask around if anyone uses it.

>1&1 has a good package for a good price. I just started using them for the first time on a web site. I will say that the email server seems very slow, sometimes taking almost a day to receive test emails from myself, or from me to the client who owns the site. Also I find the Administration panel interface a bit "quirky". I have a number of sites hosted with OLM.net. They cost a tad more. Last I checked it was $9.95 / month for about 200MB's space (more than you would ever need) & they don't give you as many extras as 1&1 does. I prefer their admin panel, over 1&1's and have never had a problem with their service. I have about 6 sites hosted with them & have used them for probably 3 years. I'm not saying don't use 1&1 - just giving you my expeience.
