Kelton Gouges on sale

>Kelton makes a series of four or five interchangable gouge tips. These screw onto a common shaft and use a single handle and shaft.

Woodcraft is clearing these out, they are currently discounted about 35%, or $19 per time, instead of $30.

Looks like a good deal if you already own the shaft.

They are also closing out the Kelton Hollow vessel calipers for $35 instead of $60.

On the main woodcraft.com web page click on the closeouts link and then woodturning to see the items.

No, I don't work for Woodcraft, and don't benefit from this other than if you get a deal on something you need, or didn't know you needed.

Enjoy

Most, but not all.....

>I agree, most of Kelton's stuff is top notch; not so with these replaceable tips. The flutes are so short that no jig that I know of will work well with them. Also, the shallow fluted ones puts the cutting edge too high and you cannot rotate it far enough to get the cutting edge below the centerline of the tool. This is asking for catches. Nothing about these tips impresses me and that is why they are being discounted and discontinued. Just my opinion though.
