Woodfast Lathe question

Michael Wilkins

>I am contemplating buying a used Woodfast lathe

at a local tool dealer. It is the one with 16"

centers, 1.5HP 220 motor, variable speed.

The biggest concern is the availability of any

accessories to add between-centers expansion to

allow turning things like table legs.

Or if there are any homemade devices that can be

welded to add capacity.

Thanks for any insight.

This is my first time posting on the turning site, so go easy and thanks.

>I have that lathe and truly love it, but I'm not sure that you could add a bed extension that you would be happy with. I guess it might be possible, but I'm pretty much a zero when it comes to doing metal stuff.

>Check with Craft Supplies, they sell the lathe and should be able to tell you if that type of stuff is available to you. Guy
