Outboard turning on Woodfast lathes

>I read that this is possible, which picqued my curisosity since I have one now. But how is this done. I think I saw that the spindle is threaded on both ends but wouldn't it be turning in the wrong direction on the outboard side? Does anyone have any experience with this that could explain this to me.

>Woodfast makes an outboard bed and left hand threaded faceplates, which Craft Supplies usually stocks. Works great for hollow forms if you're a lefty. As you face the piece it turns clockwise and you'll be cutting on the right hand side.
