I'm still getting mine wired in so I can't comment on how it works let, but it was priced correctly.

Our very own Al Crandall did an article (link below) on building your own chuck. I have built many chuck for our club members using this plan. Simple and cheap.

Excellent article! I've made quite a few chucks along this style with harg maple, but they are limited somewhat in size. I like the idea of using the MDF.

It is just so easy to tap / thread a wood blank on your shaft, and turn to whatever size you want! I also use the adapter on the tailstock to make those threads match the headstock shaft, so the chucks can be used on either side.
