Sweazey gouge

>The Sweazey gouge came in and I had to try it out. Out of the box I turned two bowls without sharpening. This was a first for me because I have always had to sharpen a tool before useing it. The m4 steel really holds an edge. The gouge not only felt great, it also handled very nice. The lead in the handle made a well balanced tool. I believe Bob has a winner here and i'll be looking for the 5/8 when they come out.

>Jamie,

Do a search on my name, and look for a post entitled New Tool Maker - Russ made the initial posting the first of last week, and I posted Bob Sweazey's email and pics to me.

I ordered one as well (Unhandled), and looked at Steeltwister's yesterday (he is a member of our club). Very good Quality. Bob Sweaszey says he has a 5/8" one in the works but no target date for release. It looks very much like a Glaser Gouge, same V-profile of the flute.

>It should be obvious, Jamie! It is a multi-tasking gouge. You can turn with it, and, if the wood is really wet, you can use it squeegee the water off and keep turning. :-)
