Have you contacted General about the touchup paint? I know of several people who use the Oneway live center and are very pleased with it.

Congrats again! Post a pic of the first big bowl or platter to come off your new lathe.

So will you be an RN or nurse practitioner com February? My mother's has been an LPN for 40 years at one of the local hospitals. She'll 82 this summer and still working the orthopedic wing! I grew up listening to bizarre nursing stories from her work. I image Gabrielle will end up hearing nursing stories, too.

We expect to be at a fiddle and dance camp the weekend of Bill's picnic. We'd love to come, otherwise.

I contacted the local General dealer, he doesn't carry the paint because of the cost of having hazardous substance shipped. I'll probably get it matched at the local autofinisher store.

I've used the Oneway, it is nice. I was thinking of getting a $50 live center, but I should probably just bite the bullet and go for the Oneway.

I've got all these large logs with large bowls trapped inside of them just waiting for a large lathe to come along. Now, do I start with the spalted maple, cherry, birch, magnolia, box elder, butternut, walnut, apple....

Packard Woodworks sells economically priced lived centers. I bought their 60 deg cone live center and use it all the time. They also sell drive spurs.

Just got notified about three recently-felled 18" cherry trees wanting a good home. My lumber hauler is in the shop waiting for a new oil pan to replace the rusted out one. Looks like I'll miss out on this one.
