Turning Honey locast

>I have a year and a half into cross grain turning.
Found a honey locust log that is green and thought I would try to turn it end grain. I am having trouble with the hollowing process. I am coming from the center to the rim and then from rim to the center. Lots of noise-little stock removal. I am sure it is me but could this not be a good wood to turn. Thanks. Jack Dolan

>Try drilling a depth hole first, then attack from the hole to rim at an angle. This way you are not cutting the endgrain straight on, which ain't fun ;-). Locust is worth the effort in my opinion, don't give up.
