>Jerry they do have a better switch now but unfortunately it will not work in the case you have. It sounds like the arem that is moved by the lever is jambed . Probably by one of the wires. You can download the schematics from Milwaukee. Placement of the switch wires is very critical just to ge tyhe case back on. It is possible that the switch has gone out as well. I have had two go bad.

>Jerry, the switch is available from any Milwaukee service center for about $12. A good cleaning may fix you old one though. Using the drill for sanding wasn't what Milwaukee had in mind when they designed it; however, they have recently re-designed it a bit to accomodate us turners. You can also have the bearings switched to sealed bearings for about $9 each. You should have the rear bearing changed at a minimum whenever you have it serviced.

>I dropped mine about a month ago and for awhile it turned at only half speed (which was fine). now it doesn't turn at all. I've noticed the same thing with my reversing switch. When it's out of the case, it switches easily but one I assemble everything It won't move. I've been meaning to go to the service center, but just haven't found the time.

>They are pretty much the same. I have one of each. The Souix does seem to have a different "whine" than the Milwaukee. Both are made by the same people. Try e-bay before you buy. You can usually get one for around $70 or so. There are some Chinese knock offs that can be had for about $30. Might be worth the $ to see how you like them. Someone bought a bunch of the knock offs at a yard sale and gave them to woodworkers. Apparently they work fine. Be aware none of them are made for our continuous running sanding work. Require some R&R occasionally.

>Dropped my Souix as well. Same problem. replaced the switch with a Milwaukee switch and everything works now. There are Two switches one with the top reverser and the other with the rear lever reverser. (I just made up a new word)
