Smart Miter and Segments

>Are any of you using the SmartMiter for cutting segments? If so, how do you control the measurment of the cuts? I'm just not getting what I consider close enough. For example at 15 degrees I'll get 1/16 to 1/8 gap. I can compensate by setting it at about 15 1/2 degrees but this is hit and miss and isn't using the miter gauge properly. I've only been using it since December but I think I have it set up correctly.

>I have my Smart Miter to be very accurate from the get go. You may need to setup again. Things to watch for. Your sawblade must be dead on 90 degrees. Your board strips must be square all four sides and with out bows of any kind. You should be using your clamp accessory. I have a fence board attached to mine with double stick tape. The fence board extends approx. 6" past the blade onto the Smart Miter extension board on the right hand side of the saw blade. My smart miter cuts are dead on. Use a hose clamp for your trail cuts. If you see daylight start looking for the cause. GT
