Wood Gloat - Star Pine

>This morning while driving my daughter to school, I noticed a large pile of wood along the side of the road. Where I live, tree trimmers often dump wood here so that others will pick it up for firewood, instead of the trimmer having to pay a disposal fee.

Most of the time the wood is Eucalyptus, of which I have plenty. This morning, however, it was an entire Star Pine (Norfolk Island Pine) tree with the base about 18" D. After losing my daughter, I ran home, got my truck and loaded until the springs were bottomed out. I guess you could call this a drive by gloat :-)

>More important than the gloat (tho I agree that it's huge) -- hope you find your daughter!

>I did manage to get her all the way to school, but seriously contemplated making her 1/2 hour late so I wouldn't miss out. There were two vehicles already there and I thought they might be there to pick up firewood.

When I returned, the two trucks were still there, but they were not grabbing wood. I live in the area of San Diego that was hit hardest by the fires last year and they were a pair of contractors working on rebuilding projects.

Tonight, I get to cut and wrap some wood!
