>Don't run #10 if you don't have to. It's a pain in the butt. Your PM will run off 15 amp and #12 wire. I used #10 because I had access to it any by the time I finished I was about ready to shoot myself.

>IMO, #10 wire is overkill for a PM3520. I agree that #10 wire is pretty stiff and a pain to work with unless it's all open or straight runs. You could easly run #14 with a 15 amp breaker and be within specs. I already a #12 220 run with a 20 amp breaker. So that's what I used.

>That 2HP motor says 15.3 amps, so #14@15amps is too light, IMHO. Totally agree with #12@20 amps, but make sure your two pole breaker is double wide with a contact for each buss bar (my first didn't, so extra trip!) You're gonna love that baby in spite of the color.

>That sounds more like a 110v motor. My new PM 3520a came with the standard 2hp, 1720 RPM motor rated at 6.2 amps @220V. Obviously it's well within #14 wire, 15 amp 220 breaker capacity.

2HPx ~750W/HP = 1500W
1500W/220V = ~7A
Note that the motor is 3 phase, so its nameplate current rating will be lower than 7A, but that doesn't enter into the equation. The power that goes into the VFD equals the power out of the motor, minus losses.
What all this means for me is that the 15A rated power cord and plug that I'm using are ok. Also the 20A service that it's plugged into is more than adequate.
