>the Vacuum plate made by Vicmarc which utilizes a shop-vac for the vacuum is a reasonable alternative. I use mine with a Fein shop-vac (which has bypass cooling) and it works quite well. If you have a Vicmarc chuck this plate can be gripped in the dovetail jaws; if not, you can order a bushing and thread it directly onto your spindle. It is cheap, it works, and it can be installed or removed in seconds.
