>We are fortunate to have so many quality chucks to choose from. I have the Oneway Stronghold and find it really is sweet. One key difference is that Oneway needs a straight tenon or recess, while the Vicmark uses a dovetail. Lot of my friends swear by the dovetail. Luckily, Oneway is now making a set of jaws that are dovetail. Pays yo money, takes yo chances. Either way, a win.

The only thing that might limit your selection is that some of the smaller chucks may not have an adapter available for the Powermatic spindle.

>You got a lot of info. but no one said anything about the Super Nova. I know some don't loke them because of the key. I have 2. One is the Super Nova with the dove tail jaws and the other is Super Nova with the power grip jaws. I have had the dove tail chuck for over 3 years and work it hard and other than having to clean the gears, you have to do that with most all chucks, I like them.

Than being said in the near future I am going to get a Axminstewr 4" precision chuck with the 16" button jaws. It's cheaper than a vacuum chuck.

The one thing someone told me when I started my search was that the Oneways tighten clockwise and that others turn "the wrong way" That was good advice as I have used others and get easily confused. Whatever you get when you buy a 2nd chuck (and you will) make sure they both tighten the same way.
