warped shape going true on me

>Damnedest thing. Turned a big ash bowl to rough, waxed, set aside for what was obviously not enough months before turning it again to final thickness.
The next day it had warped quite visibly within the characterstic grain lines. Dagnabit! Finished it anyway, with Waterlox, 4 coats in and out.
A month later, the thing is true again! The warp done dried right out of it. Never seen such a thing.
