>I've been offered a job at Idaho State University in Pocatello Idaho. While on interviews I was shocked with the lack of serious trees in the region. I've been spoiled by connections to logging of hardwoods near me in Connecticut and New York. Where do you guys get wood? What types?

Just kidding! Yes, the forests around here are mostly evergreen - pine, spruce and fir. To get any decent hardwood you need to buy it from one of the wood suppliers, and there are darned few of those! But it can still be done, so don't fret too much!
We would welcome you to the area! Would you be at the main campus in Pocatello, or the Idaho Falls campus? My Wife works for ISU in Idaho Falls. Please feel free to ask questions!
