Another Photo, this time it is turned wood

>I recently posted this one on the WOW site, but wanted to share tio here also for those who didn't see it there.
These are one of the fun projects that I like to do. They are not difficult to make and all of the pieces are free-hand cut on the bandsaw. They do require some patience, attention to details, and a lot of glue.
This one is about 13" diameter and made from Walnut and Birch. The rim is 12 segments of walnut.

That's incredible. I assume your are doing it by cutting stacks of lumber at an angle. Could you describe it.
My old bandsaw would never do something like that but I have a new(to me) Delta bandsaw and would like to experiment more. All the laminated work I've done so far has come from the table saw because my bandsaw and disc sander are pretty low quality.

What we want is your entire 60 years worth of knowledge and could you explain it so we can all understand. I'm still absorbing the concave gouge. After sitting in on a Brian Boggs demo on hand planes and how they cut I have a much better understanding of chip removal. Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the whole demo but if you ever get to sit in on one of his demo's it's incredible.

>You can do better than that. Just show up at my shop in Post Falls, ID, at 9:30 on the Saturday morning following the 1st Thursday of every month. Throw $10 in the pot and you can watch all day. I have been doing this for the past year for club members, but anyone is welcome to attend.
Topics for May and June are the basics of the tools, how to grind, and how to use.
I can also take this show on the road if anyone is interested.

As long as the web cam doesn't have sound. I occasionally (OK maybe frequently) utter derogatory terms when the wood and I disgree on the what should be happening.
