I was turning a green natural edge black walnut form last night and had it dismount before I finally did what I knew better in the first place - chip away the bark from the pin chuck hole for a flat fit against the chuck jaws and use the tailstock.
I all too often think I can get away with just drilling a hole and not removing the soft bark/cambium layers, I am most interested in hearing what others do.
