any ideas on the Nova DVR3000

In the top of the index page, you'll see a link called Search. Click that, change the search limit date back a few months, then fill in Nova DVR in the search words.
If you want to go back more than 3 months or so, click the Turning Archive (in the navigation bar to the left) and use Search there to look in all messages ever posted to the Turning forum.

>The DVR is a fine machine and for half the price, it is a steal. It is considered a "mid-range" machine, both in size and price, but most cannot afford the high end machines. There are always some benefits and some drawbacks to any machine and the DVR is no different. Many of us have the Nova 3K (DVR and non-DVR) and love it. Although not available at the time, the 16" Jet and Delta with their sliding heads would be a better choice if prices were equal. Today I am looking at the big Powermatics. But if I had the opportunity to get a Nova at half price, I would take it and not look back. It is an enjoyable machine.

I have had a Nova DVR for a little over a year now and love it. I had some trouble with one of the computer boards and Nova send me another headstock to replace the one I had. I was much happer getting a replacement headstock than the parts to fix it. The customer service from Teknatool and Woodcraft are second to none. At that price, as long as there is nothing wrong with the lathe and you are getting the full warranty, I would jump on the deal.
