My First Box: Exterior

>This is my very first attempt at a box. My wife wanted a ring box to put on shelf by the sink. She wanted it to look exactly like a walnut so it would blend in with a fruit and nut decoration.

>Hi Brett,

It looks like a nice shape, it will hide very well with the fruit and nuts. You got a perfect fit between base and cap. The Watco oil finish gives it a more natural look. I have never turned a box but I hope when I do it can approach the quality of yours.

>Hi Brett,

That looks great! I think it will hide in the nut decor very nicely. Great precision on the tenon cut as well. I've not tried any little boxes like that, but it looks fun.

Thanks for the pic,

Mike
