In search of Peach wood

>Does anyone know if you can purchase Peach wood for turning and if its even a good wood to turn.
I had a corny idea of turning a pen for a friend from Georgia out of Peach.
If anyone knows where I might get some or has some to sell please let me know.

>Larry..... I have turned some peach wood and it turned nice but the grain was not spectacular. I threw it outside for awhile and when I started to throw it away, I decided to take another look at it and when I bandsawed through it, it was spalted and beautiful. I would assume that different varieties of peach trees might have better grain patterns than others, and soil conditions would probably have an effect on what the wood looks like.

>I made a pen from a peach tree trimming, 2nd from left in pic in the link below. It's nice but nothing great. The end grain of the piece I had showed a sort of spiked border between dark heartwood and light sapwood, but my penmaking technique wasn't able to get the surface of the pen at that border very well. Still, I like it enough that I haven't been able to bring myself to give it to anyone yet (which is what I tend to do with pens).
