Acacia Bowl - comments welcome

David S.

>Hi from David in Australia. I am still fairly new at turning - so any comments that you may have that would help me improve would be very welcome. The timber is acacia - known by the locals as a wattle tree. It was growing in my yard until the tree needed to come down to make room for an extra room.

Comments welcome.

>Hi David,

That's really nice. I really like that shape. Just curious, how big is the bowl? I like what looks to be a bit of sapwood at the rim. Also, what's a wattle tree? :) I'm guessing it is what I'd call a "weed" tree around here?

Nice bowl, thanks for the pics.

Mike

Hoping for shop time in wet Apex, NC...

>Very nice form David. Beautiful wood. Does the bowl have a foot? Can't tell from the photo.

>Hi there,

I like the shape of this bowl, the way the rim rolls over really suits the splashes of sapwood at the edges.

The wood looks really nice too.

Thanks for posting
