"Polychromatic" is anything with more than one color. It is the old description for anything that is assembled from more than one wood.

"Segment" is a geometric shape.

"Segmented" describes a single type of of polychromatic assembly. It has become the description for a lot of things, whether it fits or not.

I prefer "polychromatic". It sounds more artistic.

I call them "Hybrid" bowls because they are a mix of segmented and solid wood bowls.

But to be quite honest, I like Russ' "Polychromatic Turnings" tag much better.
