Tree, why dost thou torture me?

Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level

>Here is a maple tree that is just down the street from my office. I pass by it every day. The apartment just behind it was just built last year. When I saw the construction crew show up to tear down the houses (to make way for the apt.) I figured that tree (which is barely alive) would be cut down for sure....oh please, oh please!!!! But one day I drove by and some orange safety fence had been put around it. Nooooooo! Arrrrgh! Now I guess I have to wait it out and hope for a natural death. ;-)

>Hey Tommy....There are things that a guy out for a midnight walk could do to hasten the demise of that tree. But then you wouldn't do that, would you?

Even worse!

Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level

>Wally,

Even worse, you can't imagine how many times I have thought about buying an orange safety vest and show up with my trusty Stihl and claim I was a Public Works" arborist! ;-)

That's the problem

Thomas Skaggs, Foothills of Mount Level

>First, I would probably either fell it into the building or into the street causing a road block...Murphy's Law. The next issue...despite the orange safety vest, a lone guy with a chainsaw and a pickup truck might still draw attention. I want those burls...but not bad enough to spend time in jail for. ;-)
