OT: Puter help

BubbaBob

>My CD drive won't work. I have not used it for months, but today I got my penturning CD from Penn State Ind. and tried to run it.

My CD drive is F and when I try to run the disk, I get the message:

F:\ is not accessable.

The device is not ready.

Any ideas folks?

>Hi Bob,

Usually when I have got that error it has been the CD, though my drive did break a while back and gave that error. Have you tried any other CD's in the drive to eliminate whether it is just a dodgy CD. (Audio CD's are quite good to try)

Let us know how you get on

Hope this helps

David

Check your hardware profiles to see if the CD is listed and is operational. Sometimes, reloading a driver is in order.

Then, again, if the disc is a DVD and you mistakenly put it in a CD reader, it may, instead of saying the medium is not correct, indicate that the hardware is somehow messed up.

Just guessing.
