>I think he'll like it. I had posted a question recently about finishing a piece of very wet cherry, to make a natural edge bowl for a friend/coworker. After seeing some recent banksia pod vases done by David Eaves and Wally Dickerman (nice job guys!) and showing them to my coworker, we decided to go with one of these weed pots. This is the first of these I have turned. After being pummeled by the seeds and tripling the price for hazard pay, I got it finished finally. These are fun to do!

Comments welcome. Note I took this picture last night, minutes after applying a coat of oil. The picture is a 'quick and dirty', as it was about 1 am and I was tired.

>Hi Greg,

That looks really good I like your form, much closer to what I had in my head the other day, but messed up with making the hole too big :o)

Great work, and yep they are fun to turn :o)

Thanks for posting

>David, thanks! Seeing your post reminded me I had this as an option, and I'm glad I did! I'm curious, where is the best place to buy these pods? I got mine from some small group that sold them at a woodworking show.

>Hi Greg, I don't know for the US hopefully others might chip in. I live in the UK and got mine from a woodturning supplies place, they just had a box full you could pick from. There was a discount for buying in bulk too :o)

>Doug,

Thanks, but I was in my local WC today, and they had never seen one!
