Making a chatter tool?
John Trant (aka Boxes-n-Bowls)
>I have read multiple articles through the years detailing the method used in making a chatter tool which is used to decorate end-grain turnings (tops, boxes, etc). Now that I have decided that I need one (immediately!), I could not find these articles on the web nor those that I am sure I printed for just this occasion. Yes, they are simple tools and I am sure I could cobble one together but I am trying to not "re-invent the wheel". The plans that I have seen use modified bandsaw or jig saw blades mounted on a ~1/2 inch steel rod. I cannot remember how the replacable blades were attached to the rod in order to prevent movement sideways. Any help would be appreciated.
