miniature goblet

>This isn't as nice as Bill's pencil but I needed a break so I went in the shop and an turned this. It's about 4" tall and a little less than 3/8" in diameter. I think the captured ring should have been thinner and the base should have been larger. I should post a photo of me in my magnifying glasses. That's even funnier.

That looks really cool, took me a few seconds to fully appreciate the size too. A great achievement working that small. I agree with you about the ring and the base. I also find the section at the base where the stem flares out looks a bit out of place. I think with a larger base though that would look good, especially if the curves echoed each other.

>The more I look at it the more I don't like the stem. I wish I had made it thinner and not placed the flared detail so close to the middle. I wasn't sure I liked the detail at the bottom that echo's the detail under the cup. It was a good idea at the time but I'm not sure it worked.
