Excellent job on the sphere. I imagine it is quite difficult to keep uniform. How thick is it?
Also, is this a piece you turned green then finished later?

I didn't turn this. I salvaged some of the tree and gave to my friend Randy. It is about 1/4" thick. He turned it totally green. In fact he had to refinish it. He was trying to get in done for a show and put lacquer on it. After about 2 weeks in a really dry gallery the finish started to wrinkle. The wood hadn't dried all the way and shrank. He pulled it out of the show and refinished it that night. Good lesson. let your work dry.
