What you missed was a very entertaining evening. It started with a flurry of well thought out questions that came at Roy faster than I could read. I found myself scrolling back for a few minutes. But roy got to them all and answered them with his quick sharp whit.

As is normal with these chats, it was not possible to get into any depth with technical questions. Consequently there where a few that he said he would answer off line.

The man is like a stand up comedic woodworker. He has a message which runs through all of his shows, which surrounds the importance of the preservation of craft, and he was certainly able to deliver that message in the session. Probably the most important detail is the understanding of working wood from green to dry, and the various stages that one goes through. But his whit is refreshingly sprinkled throughout his delivery.

As you can tell, I like the guy, and furthermore I was impressed by his ability to deal with the crowd of 65 potentially simultaneous questioners.

I hope you stay well enough to do me the favor of covering the next couple of guest chats. I'm off to England on Monday to go visit with my ailing mother who has been in and out of hospital a couple of times this month, with the same troubles that are ailing you.

It was a very good chat; I think there might be a transcript available. The importance of having a web presence even though the sales probably will not originate from the web was emphasized. To have a web page seems to give validity to the fact that you are a serious artist. The normal gallery commissions were discussed as were craft shows, wholesale shows, etc.
