Filter for vac system

>I am collecting the components for a vacuum system and would like to find out where I can purchase filters. I see one listed at Surplus Center but they are out of stock and don't know when they will get more. Any other sources?

I just took a plumbing connector that was about 2" in diameter, stuffed it with vent filter and connected it to the system. Every once in a long while , I take it apart and check it, but have not had a need to replace it yet.
Also, I have a similar (but smaller) connector and vent filter connector on the exhaust --- I read that you need one there because of the carbon output (?), plus it also acts as a muffler.
