>Yea I bet you thought I was talking about bowl turning. This is my version of the Tin Man from the Wizard of Oz. I found this oil can at the flea mkt and immediately know what I was going to do with it. I put it inside an inside-out turning of course.

This is all yellow poplar except for the oil can. The inside was painted with Stone Flek and then painted again with a metal looking spray paint. The outside was painted with the same paint without the Stone Flek.

If I have time to change it and can get the funnel back off I will make the heart smaller. It shows up pretty well in your hand but is impossible to photograph.

those were a pain. The rivets on the bottom of the body are Pop rivets. I filled in the hole in the center with automotive spot putty. The rivets in the top of the body and in the funnel were brass nails of different sizes.

The ones in the rim off the hat were cut very short with my linesmans pliers. I drilled holes for them with my dremel using two different cutters because the nails had a taper on the under side of the head. Then I put a drop of CA glue in the hole and using pliers and my fingers placed the nails in the hole. I glued nails to my finger. I glued my pliers together and at one point had the funnel glued to my fingers.

I thought about using the steamed bump idea to raise a bump but I've found it to be inconsistent if you want all the bumps to be the same size.
