>I have not turned on, or even laid eyes on a live, Vega lathe but have looked at the literature that I received from Vega Enterprises. I was originally interested in the 2400 bowl lathe but decided to forget about it when I realized I couldn't use my Jamieson deep hollowing system with it. I then check out the info on their 1500 model, found it to be unsuitable for me, and decided on a Vicmarc instead. In any event, it seems to me, that what you want to compare the Vega 2400 to is the Stubby. Neither the Jet nor Nova you mentioned are bowl lathes; that would be like comparing oranges and plums. The Stubby costs about twice as much as the $2595 Vega 2400 but that is their top of the line heavy duty machine with 220 volt 1 phase, inverter drive 2 hp TENV.
There must not be that many Vegas around as when I inquired about them I received very little info.
