Goblet Clay/Wood Combination

I tried to post a picture of the goblets I'm doing with the potter but I guess that's something I need help doing. When I did the "optional graphic upload", it said the image was too big however I resized it to be approx. 450 pixies x 680 pixies; and I hit "save" after downsizing. What am I doing wrong? Boy, do I need a puter tutor!

The file upload is limited to 40 kilobytes. The pixel size doesn't really matter. When you optimize your images check the file size in kilobytes and make sure it is under 40. Blurring the background of your image with a blur tool in your photo editing program will also reduce the image file size without detracting from the focus point of the image. If you need help with an image send it to me and I will optimize it for you and send it back to you.

>Part of your problem might be you reduced it to 'pixies' rather than pixels. Those darned pixies will mess with anything just to cause mischief. (I'm enjoying making fun at your expense, but I couldn't resist.) In all seriousness, try reducing it a bit more. I've found even 600 x 400 can sometimes be a bit too big.

>First thing to do with any image is crop it so it does not include any extra background. Resizing often just affects what you see on the screen, not the actual file size. Cropping gets rid of parts of the image - permanently!

>Greame is right. If you shoot it on a plain background it will also reduce the file size. Photo shop 7 has a "save for web" button that reduces the file further. I don't know if your photo software has anything like that.
