>Good afternoon all

Recently when I posted the article on roughing a bowl, I was asked if perhaps I might have a picture of the core. Well here it is, cored, roughed, dried, returned, oiled, buffed, and ready to deliver tonight. Now some of you doing some math may wonder how it got dry so fast. I can't tell you. At least, I can't tell you yet, although part of it has to do with how thin this particular bowl is. At any rate, here it is.

This bowl is approximately 10" in diameter, and 3" high and 3/16" thick. It is finished with Watco Danish Oil and buffed with a Beall system. It was commissioned by a customer for her daughter.

Thanks for posting that up. Looks great. I can see how the hollowing system is a good investment, especially when turning a high quanitity of bowls.

>Bill, you did it again- -wonderful form and finish. So, how did the boiled worms taste??? - - -that's my bet on your drying process! I have had some good luck this past couple weeks with the boiling technique on red oak- -just had to try it with Moma out of the house as her stock pot was the container. Worked for me. Phil
