I would look into borrowing time on someone else's machine. If you want to visit your relatives up here, you can use Big Blue. ;-)

This would also make me mad enough to look for an alternative machine. Either there has been a monumental case of stupidity here, or someone is playing fast and loose with the truth.

however, the requirements in my shop are that you have to be under 5'10" (height restriction), thin (to get around machinery) and be happy with a large dog and his month-long visiting dog-friend aways underfoot --- ah....well ... on second-thought, perhaps i should come out to visit you!!!

I had a similar situation,(not with one-way), where I needed a lathe by a certain date. I called every lathe dealer I could find, I had a new 20" General two days later...free shipping to boot.

hopefully you can shop around; there are a lot of people who would love to have you as a customer....Keith

>The shame of it is they have the best, they know it and they ship at their schedule. Many sales people lack the professionalism to quote their long dates. I understand they produce on order only. The sales people are afraid you will not order if you are told a truthful ship date.

I believe that Craft Supply order in blocks and may be able to do better. There is a canadian dealer in Vancover CA. that may also be able to do better. I do not know if they will drop ship direct from the factory or not.

I went through the same thin on mine from Craft Supply in Provo UT.

Get prepared and find someone with a lathe for you to use.

There are dealers out there who have 16" Oneway lathes in stock. Call Oneway. They can tell you the truth about your order, and also who has an inventory lathe on order and their approximate delivery date.
