I've turned quite a number of wedding goblets (goblets with two captive rings)over the years; however, I've never been able to turn one with interlocking rings like yours. My wife wants to know how it was done. The only way I can see to do it is to break one of the rings and glue it back together interlocked with the other. Is that how you did it? If not, would appreciate knowing your unique technique.

Really nice job. I've done a few captured rings but never have done the interlocking kind. Do you mind describing the process for those of us inclined to give it a try. I did one where I carve a heart with a captured ring but I carved both of those.

>Thanks to Bill G. that's exactly how I did it. I found if I put CA glue one one end and yellow glue on the mating surface I was able to hold the ring together for only a few moments.

On WOW, Jeff Lavine suggested that I only break one end and carefully twist an opening to only get one glue joint. I have not had the opportunity to try this yet.

Hi Ron,

Very impressive looking goblet. I haven't mastered the captive ring technique yet. I like the under cut on the base. I use that on a lot of my goblets. Nice finish epically on the rings.
