I think? The range went from I like the Jet, the one piece casting / slower speed is a plus for Mercury, the motor burned up doing pens, to get your money back while you can etc. I guess the motor is like a light bulb- either it works or it doesn't. Will a different motor work with the speed controler? I guess I'll use it to the max until warranty approaches, then decide or maybe I should just go get a better quality lathe like the vicmarc 100. Hate to spend that much on an interim lathe until I get a full size on after the move. Thanks again Bill
