Christmas comes early!
John Trant (aka Boxes-n-Bowls)
>My lovely wife, the LOML, has graciously offered to give me most of the basement for my workshop. Presently, my shop occupies only 270 sq ft in one corner of the basement (10' x 27') so things are very tight in an awkward layout. Although we are in the midst of turning the rest of the basement into a family room, she has seen the error of her ways and repented. This turn of events will increase my shop to 675 sq ft; almost 2.5 times larger than what I have now. That is even after subtracting out footage for a utility room and a laundry room. The original plans for a "laundry closet" has now grown into a spacious, fully enclosed, dust-free laundry room/sewing room (with a small TV, DVD, and music). It is a relatively big chunk of potential workshop space but it was a deal-breaker so it is best if I go along as if it was my idea.
My shop will be a bit odd shaped because the utilities are in the middle of the room (dang it) and I will have to move one of the existing walls (which we recently framed, dry walled, and mudded), do some re-wiring and re-plumbing. These will simply be the burdens that I will have to bear. 8^)
Can you hear me singing my "happy song"?
John
