>Sean,, mullberry is a nice wood to turn. Grab it! It usually has a nice yellow, sometimes reddish color. Darkens with age. It's prone to cracking, so seal it.

>Wally is correct but I will emphasize what he said. It is VERY prone to crack. Seal it and wrap it in paper or put it in a cardboard box after sealing; the first 2 months are critical. I have had it to crack after rough turning and giving it 2 coats of Anchorseal.

If you can get larger do it. The old wood has a nice color and the sapwood is very light with a yellowish hue.
As said does crack badly. I rgh turn and put in a sealed plastic tub. Daily I open the tub for a few about 1/2 hr., check for cracks and if need use CA on them, and re lid.
