Got a new Lathe

>My woodturning club decided that a shortbed wasn't flexible enough and I was able to buy it from them. After swapping out to a variable speed motor, I'm set for quite awhile. Only thing left to do is to fill the legs with sand.
I'm truly gonna miss the old nova, will never have anything bad to say about them, but man is the woodfast solid! There is no movement in the headstock at all. Hopefully I'll have some results to show fom it in the next couple of weeks.

How does the Woodfast and Vicmarc lathes look alike? They have different beds, different headstocks, different tailstocks. They may have similar stands and motors if purchased from Craft Supplies USA in Provo, UT. Craft Supplies imports the basic lathes from Vicmarc and Woodfast and then puts their own stand and motors into them. The factory supplied stands and motors from Woodfast and Vicmarc are very different.
The link below is to an Australian company that sells the Woodfast and Vicmarc lathes as they come from the factory. Note the very different stands. Harbor Freight also sells a Woodfast lathe in the USA with the factory stand. Axminster sells the Woodfast lathes in England.

I had the chance to turn on a VL-300 and it is still the lathe of my dreams, but the price difference turned the woodfast 20 into a reality.

I think they look very similar. Maybe I have only seen the ones that Craft supply sells.
But both are great lathes, before I got the lathe I have now, the Woodfast shortbed was at the top of my list. It is a very smooth running machine.
I turned on one at a work shop at John Jordan's and at David Ellsworth's. I still feel it is one of the best lathes out there.
