Oneway has a collet jaw which in some applications can be used in the place of the Odonnell jaws. Such as expanding into a hole giving good access to the chuck access of the workpice.

Perhaps an archive search will work better for you -- our correspondence may have been by direct e-mail, though.

The difference in some of these chuck jaws is the mechanism used to prevent over-extension (and flying jaws). The Oneway chucks use a pin in jaw #1, that mates with a groove in the chuck face, while the Stronghold has a travel-limiting screw in the #1 jaw slide slot. If I recall correctly, there are some compatible jaw sets, as long as you take these differences into account (and duly protect yourself). You might want to e-mail Lyn directly on this, but the answer is important for us all to see.

What Brads is remembering is that the Nova/Supernova jaw sets will interchange with the standard Oneway jaw sets, and vice versa as long as you pull the overtravel pin from the Oneway jaws. The Nova/Supernova and standard Oneway jaws will also fit on the Technatool Titan, but the large jaws specific to the Titan will not fit on any other chuck.

To my knowledge, the Axminster jaws, while being able to interchange among most (if not all) of their familiy of chucks, will not fit the chucks of any other manufacturer.

Similarly, to my knowledge, the Oneway Stronghold jaws will not interchange with the chucks of any other manufactuerer, or even their own other chucks.

I once saw an adapter that would allow Vicmark jaws to fit on other chucks, but haven't been able to find that source for a long time, so it may no longer be available.

As I've said before, I admire those chuck companies (to my knowledge, only Teknatool and Axminster) that have made a point of making their jaw sets available to all (or at least most) within their chuck families. I suppose it is too much to hope that such possibilities will ever occur between more manufacturers.
