Re: VIRUS ALERT

>I got a similarly strange message yesterday from 'rz@woodturningworks.com'. The subject looked reasonable, 'Registration confirmation'. However, there was a ZIP file attachment and a strange short message that read, 'Look it through'.
I did a bit of research and noticed the sending IP address in the header did not match the IP address for woodturningworks.com. So I checked with a coworker who handles Microsoft systems administration. This is a by-product of the Netsky virus (worm).
I would advise anyone who thinks they are infected (well heck, EVERYONE should) to download at least a free trial of one of the virus detection applications or consider purchasing a package.
If you are getting a strange message with attachment from someone, then it is NOT an indication that you have the virus - unless you open the attachment. It is an indication THEY have the virus. However, you don't always know WHO they really are as the From address is typically spoofed.
Anyone getting mail failure messages BACK to messages they know they did not send, should immediately check for a virus.
I hope this helps.
