Problems using untreated logs?
Daryl Biberdorf
>There are some logs around here (NY; lower Westchester County) from trees that were cut down some time last spring, before I moved here. Obviously, they weren't treated with Anchorseal or anything. I looked at a couple of them today, and the wood looks OK (not rotted, etc.), although there is some checking on the cut ends. Is there any chance this wood could be used for turning (if the ends were trimmed off), or has the checking already destroyed the wood's value?
Thought I'd ask before I arrange to borrow a chainsaw, etc. :)
